Riverside FFA Attends National FFA Convention
Eight members, three advisors, and four Alumni members of the Riverside FFA Chapter attended the 82nd National FFA Convention from October 22 - 24, 2009 in Indianapolis, Indiana. While at convention, members were able to meet with other FFA members from across the national, attend sessions that recognized outstanding achievements and provided leadership training, and experience one of the largest career shows in the nation. The convention was highlighted by keynote speaker Mike Rowe, from the Discovery Channel. Chelsea Doss, former Tennessee FFA President, was elected as Southern Region Vice President. She is the first National FFA Officer from Tennessee in over 20 years. Billy Vestal and Michael Vestal served as Proficiency Award Final judges. Josh Eason, Ryan Inman, Richie Ruehl, Billy Vestal, and Michael Vestal served as voting delegates during the National FFA Alumni Convention. Sadness from Convention
While attending National FFA Convention, Philip Caler, a member from the Booker FFA Chapter in Texas, was seriously injured in an accident.
