Riverside FFA Chapter Attends FFA Leadership Training Camp

Seventeen members of the Riverside FFA Chapter attended the Tennessee FFA Leadership Training Camp (commonly known as Camp Clements) the week of June 16-20.  Members gained valuable leadership skills and participated in many chapter building activities.  Six members were recognized as either Best Sport or Best Athlete for their teams.  Of the seventeen members in attendance, thirteen members received an Outstanding Leadership Certificate (more than any other chapter).  The chapter was ranked second for Outstanding Chapter of the Week.

Forestry Team Places 3rd in the State

The Riverside FFA Forestry Team placed third in the Tennessee FFA Forestry Career Development in June.  Team members participated in a two day event that covered several aspects of proper forest management.  During the event members were tested on tree measurement, compass usage, general knowledge examination, chainsaw safety, map interpretation, forest disorder identification, equipment identification, and tree identification.  Congratulations to the Forestry Team for their hard work and success.
